Pedestrian Accident on Route 30: Woman From Atco, NJ, in Critical Condition
A pedestrian who was attempting to cross the White Horse Pike in Camden County Thursday night was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle.
The accident happened around 6:15 at the intersection of Route 30 and Pinehurst Drive.
According to the Waterford Township Police Department, a 59-year-old woman from Atco was crossing the busy highway when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on the Pike.
Police say the pedestrian, who they did not identify, was seriously injured and airlifted to Cooper Hospital in Camden where she was last reported to be in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene and is said to have cooperated with police and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office's Crash Team.
The accident remains under investigation.
