
Salem County, NJ, Attempted Murder Suspect Still on the Run
Penns Grove, N.J. — Authorities in Salem County are searching for a suspect following a shooting Thursday afternoon.
Victim Shot in Chest on Poplar Street
The Penns Grove Police Department said just before 3:00, they were notified by New Jersey State Police that a 49-year-old man was being treated at Inspira Medical Center-Mannington for a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers responded and began an investigation, which revealed that the shooting had happened at a home on Poplar Street in the Borough of Penns Grove. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under active investigation.
Terry Wilson Charged With Attempted Murder
Authorities say as a result of the work, 42-year-old Terry Wilson of Penns Grove has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to have weapons. He has not yet been apprehended.
Police did not release a photo or description of Wilson.
Police Ask Public for Information
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Wilson or with information regarding the shooting can contact the Penns Grove Police Department at (856) 299-0055 or the Salem County Prosecutor's Office.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
