The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department has been instrumental in helping the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office gain their latest guilty plea.

Lucas Moran Pleads Guilty

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Lucas Moran, 27 years old, from Dunmore, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to :

  • One count of third-degree aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim.

Moran made his guilty plea before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Christine Smith.

The plea calls for a recommended sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison. It is Judge Smith’s decision whether or not to accept the plea deal.

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Has Released The Following Details

On September 28, 2025, Atlantic City police officers were dispatched to Adriatic Ave. in reference to a person being dragged into a vehicle. The victim was dragged into a Chrysler 300 with a Pennsylvania registration by her ex-boyfriend, Lucas Moran. The victim stated that Moran brandished a knife during the incident, but she was able to escape. As Moran attempted to drag the victim back into the vehicle, the victim's mother prevented him from doing so. Moran then fled westbound toward Absecon Blvd. in his vehicle. New Jersey State Police located Moran's vehicle on the Atlantic City Expressway and detained him. A foldable tactical knife was found on Moran's person, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
