Phillies’ J.T. Realmuto to Miss Weekend Series vs. Blue Jays
The hits just keep on coming for the Phillies.
First it was Spencer Howard. Then it was Rhys Hoskins. Next up Jake Arrieta. Now it's catcher J.T Realmuto.
With just about two weeks to play in the regular season, the team will have to figure out how to push forward without Realmuto, one of their top offensive players and maybe the best defensive catcher in baseball.
According to reports, Realmuto will not be ready to play this weekend against the Blue Jays, which starts today with a doubleheader.
Realmuto has been dealing with a mild hip flexor strain, forcing him out of the lineup since September 12.
In his place Andrew Knapp and 21-year-old Rafael Marchan will split time behind the plate.
Realmuto is set to become a free agent at the end of this season. He is hitting .267 with 11 home runs and 30 RBI.
