Phillies place Realmuto on 10-day injured list with knee pain
The Phillies are hopeful of getting shortstop Trea Turner back soon, but as soon as he comes back, it looks like they will be without catcher J.T. Realmuto.
Realmuto has been placed on the 10-day IL with right knee pain and will undergo right knee meniscectomy surgery tomorrow in Philadelphia
He is having a solid season as the team's primary catcher, hitting .261 with seven home runs and 20 RBI on the season, hitting mainly out of the No. 2 spot behind Kyle Schwarber.
Rafael Marchán was recalled from triple-A Lehigh Valley to take his place on the roster.
As for Turner, Phillies manager Rob Thomson indicated that he may not require a minor league rehab assignment. There is a possibility that Turner could be ready to play this weekend in Baltimore.
