It was a busy week for law enforcement officers in Pleasantville as they handled nearly 1,000 calls for service and arrested two violent teenagers.

The Pleasantville Police Department released the following statistics for the week of June 2nd through 8th and they provide a glimpse into what it's like being an officer on the streets:

  • Total incidents/Calls for service: 996
  • Domestic violence incidents: 11
  • Motor vehicle stops: 129
  • Directed high crime area patrols: 96
  • Motor vehicle crashes: 23
  • Motor vehicle summonses issued: 72
  • Patrol arrests: 13

Among those 13 arrests was one that made national headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

A 16-year-old male from Mays Landing who was wanted for attempted murder following a stabbing on the Ocean City Boardwalk over Memorial Day Weekend was arrested last week following a foot pursuit in the area of North Franklin Boulevard and Stenton Place.

A 15-year-old female from Pleasantville was also arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose following a fight in which a knife was used.

The Pleasantville Police Department reported the following home burglaries:
