Troopers say 50-year-old Joseph Cottrell, 43-year-old Tammy Burd, and 43-year-old Daniel Bunk, all of Toms River, were arrested on Friday, June 30th, following a two-month-long investigation. Cops say they seized 27 bricks of heroin, which is approximately 1,300 individual doses, worth about $6,700.

Attorney General Christopher Porrino said in a statement, “Every day our law enforcement officers are systemically working to take heroin and other illegal drugs off our streets. Every dose of heroin that we seize is another battle won in our fight against the opioid crisis."

Cottrell was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and possession of paraphernalia; he was lodged in the Ocean County Jail. Burd and Bunk were each charged with possession of heroin and paraphernalia; both were released pending court.
