Galloway Township Councilman Tom Bassford was on the scene at a substantial fire in Galloway Township, that took place on the overnight hours.

Here are the facts as shared by Bassford, who is also a former Mayor of Galloway Township.

“There was an overnight fire in Galloway Township at Apache Place, located off of Wrangleboro Road,” said Bassford.

Bassford also confirmed that 12 of the 24 units in the building were destroyed.

Bassford advised that Galloway Township received mutual assistance from the Egg Harbor Township, Absecon and Port Republic fire departments.

Public Safety Officers and other first responders are continuing to search the affected areas this afternoon.

Apache Court remains closed and this remains an ongoing investigation.

Galloway Township Emergency Management and the American Red Cross are collaborating to help the residents that have been displaced by this fire.
