Results of Atlantic County, NJ, Jail State Inspection Are In
The state of New Jersey recently spent 6 days inspecting the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing, New Jersey.
The results are in.
The state found the Atlantic County jail to be in 100 percent compliance within the state standards for adult county correctional facilities.
The County of Atlantic, under the direction of Dennis Levinson has achieved decades worth of perfect financial audits.
You can now add a perfect Justice facility indirection to the list of accomplishments.
It’s very difficult undergo 6 days of intense insurgents and come out with a perfect score card.
The Atlantic County jail continues to operate at the highest standards which should bring great assurance to the public, said Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson. "The warden and his staff have my deep respect and appreciation. As correction officers, they have some of the toughest jobs in the country. We are extremely fortunate they do their jobs so well,” said Levinson.
The annual inspection was conducted in mid-June, 2024 and included a thorough review of approximately 30 categories, including:
- personnel
- training and staff development
- emergency procedures
- security
- records
- sanitation
- food service
- inmate services
- inmate living conditions
- medical, dental and health services
- disciplinary procedures
- security and control visitation admissions
- inmate services
- programming
- access to courts.
We have confirmed that New Jersey Department of Corrections Assistant Commissioner Christopher Holmes congratulated the Levinson, County of Atlantic team on this achievement and commended their efforts in preparation for the inspection.
NOTE: The Atlantic County Justice Facility is located at 5060 Atlantic Avenue in Mays Landing. It houses male and female inmates who are pretrial, presentenced, county-sentenced, and occasionally state-sentenced and awaiting transfer or state inmates contracted to the county facility.
