Maryland-based Royal Farms has opened its first of several convenience stores in the Garden State.

The location in Magnolia, on the former site of St. Gregory's Church at the White Horse Pike and Evesham Road, began welcoming customers on Thursday, reports Courier Post.

In an recent announcement the Royal Farms says, "This location will be our first of many stores to be built in New Jersey as the company looks to continue to expand its reach," Royal Farms said in announcing the Magnolia store's debut.

Other Royal Farms stores will eventually pop up in Bellmawr, Gloucester City, Evesham, Mount Laurel, Gloucester Township, Voorhees and Winslow, according to South Jersey Observer. The chain could provide some real competition for longtime favorite Wawa.
