Scathing Letter About Atlantic City Schools Boss La’Quetta Small

For the second consecutive week, La’Quetta Small is the subject of an anonymous and scathing letter writing campaign against her.

The letters have been mailed to diverse members of the Atlantic City, New Jersey area.

The most recent letter that I have received, is postmarked on April 14, 2025 with a South Jersey NJ postmark. I received it yesterday.

The latest letter does not mention Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small … but, it is highly critical of La’Quetta Small.

THE CRITICAL LETTER BEGINS …

Subject: Potential Corruption & Mismanagement

Dear Members of the Atlantic City Board of Education,

This letter outlines serious concerns that I have as a result of my research regarding potential corruption, mismanagement, and questionable ethical practices within the Atlantic City School District, particularly concerning the actions and promotions of individuals with a history of alleged misconduct.

LETTER OFFERS ADVICE TO LA’QUETTA SMALL

The letter addresses that ”adding to these concerns is the fact that Superintendent Small reportedly chose to remain in her demanding position instead of pursuing an opportunity to take time off to address a fractured relationship with her teenage daughter. While this is a personal matter, it could suggest a prioritization of professional power over personal well-being and potentially ethical considerations.”

LA’QUETTA & MARTY SMALL FACE CRIMINAL INDICTMENTS

Here are the criminal charges that Marty and La’Quetta Small face, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office as follows:

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Marty Small, Sr., 50, and his wife, La Quetta Small, 47, of Atlantic City, NJ were both indicted for second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Marty Small, Sr. was also indicted for third-degree Terroristic Threats, and third-degree Aggravated Assault. It is alleged that during the months of December 2023 and January 2024, the defendants physically and emotionally abused their 15/16-year-old-daughter on multiple occasions. During one incident, on January 13, 2024, Marty Small, Sr. is alleged to have hit his daughter multiple times in the head with a broom causing her to lose consciousness.

MARTY SMALL FACES ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGE

Marty Small was separately indicted for witness tampering by a second Atlantic County, New Jersey Grand Jury.

LETTER ALLEGES CORRUPTION

The letter writer raises the issue of the rewarding of contracts and raises questions about the La’Quetta Small administration.
