What’s at stake: The winner of Sunday’s Seahawks-Eagles game will advance to the NFC divisional round of the playoffs. They would travel to take on either second-seeded Green Bay or top-seeded San Francisco next weekend.

COMPARING THE OFFENSES

EAGLES: QB Carson Wentz is making his NFL postseason debut. Injuries forced him to watch Nick Foles guide the offense to a victory in Super Bowl LII and a win in the wildcard round a year ago. He’s the first QB in team history to throw for 4,000 yards (4,039) in a season. Tackle Lane Johnson (ankle) is not expected to play. TE Zach Ertz (ribs, back) is listed as questionable. C Jason Kelce made All Pro for the third time. RB Boston Scott and WR Greg Ward are among the former practice squad players who have stepped up in a big way, along with rookie RB Miles Sanders.

SEAHAWKS: Russell Wilson is arguably the best QB in the NFC. He’s also throw for over 4,000 yards (4,110) to go with 33 TD passes and 5 interceptions and rushed for 342 yards and three TDs. Like the Eagles, the Seahawks have been hurt by injuries. RB Marshawn Lynch has come of retirement to help rookie Travis Homer. LT Duane Brown and LG Mike Iupati are not expected to play. WRs Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are outstanding.

EDGE IS EVEN

COMPARING THE DEFENSES

EAGLES: This unit has really hit its stride over the last month or so. They are coming off an outstanding effort against Dallas. End Brandon Graham has been the leader of the front four. Tackle Tim Jernigan has stepped up his game. Safety Malcolm Jenkins has been their most consistent and best player in an injury-riddled secondary. He hasn’t missed a defensive snap in over two seasons

SEAHAWKS: They had three sacks and forced five turnovers against the Eagles earlier this season. End Jadeveon Clowney will play after missing the last meeting with a core injury. Five-time All Pro MLB Bobby Wagner is the best in the league. He’s also the franchise’s all-time leading tackler. Safety Quandre Diggs is back after missing two games with an ankle injury.

COMPARING THE COACHES

Seahawks: Pete Carroll has a knack for getting it done in the clutch.

Eagles: Doug Pederson should be a candidate for Coach of the Year.

EDGE IS EVEN

INTANGIBLES

Seahawks: They are 7-1 on the road this season and have already won in Philly. They won’t be fazed by the atmosphere.

Eagles: The Linc should be rocking for the team’s first home playoff game since 2017.
