The death toll at a North Cape May nursing home climbed to six over the weekend, according to Cape May Times.com.

Among the latest deaths at Victoria Manor in North Cape May were an 80-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman.

On April 7th, a press release from the Cape May County Health Department said that 15 residents and 11 staff members of the Cape May County nursing home had tested positive for COVID-19. By April 8th, two residents had died.

As of this weekend, a total of seven people have died in Cape May County from COVID-19, six of them at Victoria Manor.

Genesis HealthCare says there are 45 total cases of COVID-19 reported at Victoria Manor, 25 nursing home residents and 20 staff members.

Cape May Times.com quotes a spokesperson for Victoria Manor who say the facility is doing everything they can to minimize the treat to residents and staff.

“...adhering to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidelines and recommended protocols for COVID-19. We continue to follow to the letter the direction of the New Jersey Department of Health in an effort to contain and minimize the spread of the virus.”
