Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America.

Communities around South Jersey will be commemorating the day with memorial ceremonies. Here's a look at several of them.

Atlantic City: Today's event at 10 am will honor two local residents who lost: their lives on 9/11 at the Saracini-O'Neill Memorial at Jackson Avenue and the Boardwalk.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and will include music from the Sandpipers Pipes & Drums of Atlantic County and a 40-ton, patriotic-themed sand sculpture by artist John Gowdy.

Vincent Saracini, 51, was captain of Flight 175, the second plane to strike the World Trade Center

John O'Neill, 49, had become the World Trade Center's director of security just before the attack, after retiring from the FBI, where he had been an expert on Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

Margate: A 9 am ceremony will be held at the Fire Station #1, Ventnor and Washington avenues.

Longport: The American Legion Post 469 will hold a ceremony at 9 am at Thomas B. Reed Park, at the foot of the Longport bridge.

Somers Point: A 5:30 pm ceremony at Patriot's Park on Bethel Road

Mays Landing: A ceremony will be held at 7 pm at War Memorial Park, 109 Rt 50.

Egg Harbor Township: A 6 pm ceremony will be held at the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company at 6550 Mill Road

Absecon: The first ceremony will begin at 9:30 am and is being held especially for  Absecon school children. All community members are welcome to attend.

The second ceremony will begin at 6:30 pm for the entire Absecon community. Both ceremonies will be held at the 9/11 Memorial at Heritage Park, 500 Mill Road, Absecon

Ocean City: A 6 pm ceremony outside the Ocean City Fire Department headquarters, 550 Asbury Avenue

Wildwood: The annual September 11th Remembrance Ceremony will take place at Byrne Plaza in Downtown Wildwood at 1:00 pm

North Wildwood: An 8:40 am service will be held at the 15th Street Fire Station, 15th & Central Avenues, in North Wildwood

Wildwood Crest: A 5:30 pm ceremony in Alameno Park, New Jersey and Miami aves.

Sea Isle City: A 9 am ceremony will be held at Veteran's Park, JFK Blvd. and Landis Ave.

Lower Township: A 5:30 pm ceremony at the Naval Air Station Wildwood at the Cape May Airport

Stone Harbor: An 8 am ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial at 123rd and 2nd Ave.

Seaville: A 10 am ceremony at Osprey Point, 1731 Rt 9

Cape May: A 6 pm ceremony at the Cape May Firehouse, 712 Franklin St.
