Stafford Township Police arrested a Toms River man on Wednesday and charged him for allegedly stealing $38,000 in building supplies from Universal Supply Company in Manahawkin.

A police investigation determined that Jesse Vonderlinden, 39, had allegedly unlawfully entered the business on multiple occasions between January 13th and February 11th of this year and removed over $38,000 of building materials.

Stafford Township Police issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Tuesday, February 15th, police received word that the surveillance cameras at Universal Supply had caught footage of Vonderlinden in their supply yard and police responded in time to see him leaving the area in his vehicle.

Vonderlinden was arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.

He was taken to the Ocean County Jail to await a court hearing.
