New Jersey State Police say they've recovered human remains from a submerged car found in the Salem River.

Police say the body of the adult victim was recovered after divers working in the river observed the body in the car. The divers were working for an underwater construction company doing work in the area.

More from State Police:

Members of the State Police Marine Services Bureau, Crime Scene and Major Crimes Units arrived on scene to remove the car from the river and recover the remains of a deceased adult victim inside the vehicle.

The remains were taken to the Southern Regional Coroner’s Office pending an autopsy.

The case remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available at this time.

Meanwhile, there is news that the body of a missing Egg Harbor City man has been found, however, a post on the Facebook page, "Search for Quan" indictated the body found in the Salem river was not Quan Lindsay.
