State troopers are asking for your help as they investigate the shooting of two men on Route 49 in Salem County Saturday afternoon.

According to authorities, troopers responded to Route 49 at milepost 10.4 in Quinton Township, Salem County, for the report of a double shooting around 5:15 PM.

When troopers arrived, they found a 20-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger, both men, had both sustained gunshot wounds. The driver was taken to Salem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the passenger was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital where he was last listed in critical but stable condition. Cops say three people in the backseat were not injured.

State Police say,

Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives determined that several shots were fired at the victim's vehicle while the driver was attempting to make a left turn into a restaurant parking lot on State Highway 49. The suspect vehicle is possibly a tan or brown in color sedan.

The restaurant referenced by the State Police was Hudock's Custard Stand, as reported by NJ.com.
