Suspects Arrested In the Killing of Three in Maplewood
MAPLEWOOD — Authorities have charged two men in the killings of three people last month.
Jimmy P. Mays, 37, formerly of Egg Harbor Township, was arrested in Columbia, Maryland. Lavelle T. Davis, 33, of Galloway, was arrested several hours later in Yonkers, according to Chief of Detectives Quovella M. Spruilla of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The two were charged with killing Michael Davis, 45, of Maplewood, Lance Fraser, 44, of Newark, and Roshana Kelson, 30, of Paterson, in a Maplewood apartment Jan. 30.
Police found the bodies after being called to the residence for a wellness check.
Both have been charged with three counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, felony murder, robbery and weapons charges.
