Suspect sought in armed robbery in downtown Absecon, NJ

Authorities in Absecon are asking for your help as they try to identify an armed robbery suspect.

According to police, the incident happened just after 7:30 Monday night, September 23rd, in the city's downtown business district on New Jersey Avenue.

Officials say a 9-1-1 caller reported that an unidentified man brandished a knife and demanded money from a local business owner, who was able to flee the establishment unharmed. The suspect then fled on foot.

The Absecon Police Department describes the suspect as follows:

• Age: 25 to 35
• Race: Black or African American
• Height: 5’ 3” to 5’ 7”
• Weight: 145 to 175 pounds
