A person connected to the Ciattarelli campaign confirmed the candidate will concede this afternoon and will stress that the election was conducted fairly, all votes were counted and there was no fraud.

The AP essentially determined there was no way Republican Jack Ciattarelli could gather enough votes to pull ahead of Murphy's unofficial lead.

Ciattarelli has spent about $12.4 million so far with Murphy expending nearly $12.6 million, according to the latest data from the Election Law Enforcement Commission.

"I just heard the governor talk about mask mandates," Ciattarelli said, "But as the news reported today, he participated in a very large indoor conference in which nobody was wearing masks. I do think our leadership needs to be consistent."
