Teen Drowns at Park in Hamilton Township

A 14-year-old boy who was with his family having a picnic at a park in Hamilton Township drowned Tuesday afternoon.

Hamilton Township Police say they responded to the Weymouth Furnace/Atlantic County Park on Weymouth Road around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon for the report of a possible drowning. Authorities were able to determine that a 14-year-old boy from out of the state went into the water and did not resurface.

Following an extensive search, the boy was located and pronounced dead at the scene.
