Teen Idol, Who Played Steel Pier Atlantic City Has Stage 4 Cancer

In its “Hey Day,” you were not considered to be a major star until you played on Steel Pier in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Steel Pier was known as “The Show Place of The Nation.”

We are said to share the news … which comes from a former teen idol’s wife … that Bobby Sherman has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer.

Here is the public statement shared by Brigitte Poublon on her Facebook page:

To all of Bobby Sherman's cherished fans,
As many of you know, Bobby has been retired for some time and is no longer able to participate in cameos, sign autographs, or make appearances. It is with a heavy heart that we share Bobby has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. During this challenging time, we kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our privacy. Thank you so much for still remembering him. We really appreciate it.

Bobby Sherman is 81 years old. Poublon did not reveal what form of Cancer that he husband has.

Bobby Sherman did something very rare … He left a career in movies, television and live performances to pursue a career in emergency management and law enforcement.

Sherman got bit by the “bug” following his appearance on a hit television show called “Emergency.”

In 1974, Sherman became a paramedic in Los Angeles. California. For more than a decade, Sherman served as a medical training officer at the Los Angeles Police Academy.

Sherman was given the title of an LAPD technical Reserve Police Officer and he received recognition as the Reserve Officer of the Year in 1999.

Sherman enjoyed charting hits, including the single "Little Woman", which rose to Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, selling more than 1 million copies.

It spent nine weeks on the Billboard Top 20 charts, as Sherman had an incredibly loyal following.
