We took on a very sweet assignment in 2022, as we reviewed and compiled our list of The Best Milkshakes In Atlantic County, New Jersey.

Our list was the byproduct of a collaboration of friends and family, including our best “Foodie Fanatics,” who love saving “room” for dessert.

Some told us that they love to have their milkshake at the same time as their meal … especially if they’re having a burger and french fries.

Others enjoy having their milkshake as a stand-alone experience at the end of a great meal.

As always, we never promise that our list is absolute. It’s totally subjective and open to challenge.

THE BEST MILKSHAKES IN ATLANTIC COUNTY, NEW JERSEY

JOHNNY ROCKETS

Atlantic City, New Jersey

We begin with Johnny Rockets because the whole experience is a throwback to quieter, more simple times.

From the overall presentation (old fashion metal glass holder) to the decor of the restaurant … you are transformed back to another era. It’s just wonderful.

HARD ROCK CAFE

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City

This interpretation is a total diner-style inspiration. It’s your choice of Madagascar vanilla bean or rich chocolate ice cream, blended thick and finished with fresh whipped cream.

It will cost you exactly 557 calories.

RUBY’S DINETTE

Resorts Casino Hotel & Casino

The old fashioned diner feel, located within Atlantic City’s first-ever hotel and casino.

A classic, old fashioned milkshake, that is blended to perfection and bursting with taste and texture.

CUSTARD’S LAST STAND

Ventnor, New Jersey

Owned and operated for decades by Joe & Rory Schafer.

Also known for their “Famous Chocolate Peanut Butter Water Ice.”

Homemade ice cream and wide variety of water ices.

The Schafer’s are also well known for giving back to the Ventnor community. Joe Schafer was a two-term Ventnor City Commissioner.

MARGATE DAIRY BAR & BURGER

Margate, New Jersey

The Margate Dairy Bar is a very popular establishment that serves Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt, Burgers, Hot Dogs and fabulous milkshakes.

Remember to advise the staff if you want your milkshake with hard or soft ice cream. Both are great, it’s just a matter of you prefer a thicker or smoother shake.

RICHMAN’S ICE CREAM COMPANY & BURGER BAR

Brigantine, New Jersey

This fine establishment serves Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt, Burgers, Hot Dogs and more.

The character of this property fits the wonderful community of Brigantine and its visitors perfectly.

CHICK-FIL-A

Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

This one may surprise you, but, it shouldn’t. From their signature chicken dishes to homemade cookies, brownies, lemonade and iced tea… everything that they include on their menu is perfected and is always very good.

A few years ago, they added milkshakes and they are outstanding.

I didn’t know what to expect when I first tried one. It is now one of my favorite milkshakes.

FYI. My absolute favorite is from Disney World’s Hollywood Studio’s “50’s Prime Time Cafe.” It’s beyond words.

DAIRY QUEEN

Somers Point, New Jersey.

Its not obligatory. No proper list would be complete without including Dairy Queen.

Dairy Queen has been an important part of so many lives.

They make great milkshakes and have a surprising, wide-array of food and beverage items that are very good.

LINDY HOPS HOMEMADE ICE CREAM & WATER ICE

Galloway Township, New Jersey

We read this recent review on Facebook:

"Best ice cream in the area! You can order inside and
outside of the parlor. Great family atmosphere, which
includes dogs too! Love bringing my dog for a small
vanilla cone, which they even offer a dog treat! My
favorite is a black and white malt milkshake.”

ISLAND CREAMERY NEW JERSEY

Atlantic City, New Jersey

Located on Ventnor Avenue in the Chelsea section of Atlantic City, this sweet shop has earned a very good reputation for the quality of product and service.

They are family owned and operated and opened in 2020.

LLOYD’S COUNTRY CUSTARD

Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

This is our Family’s “home “ ice cream shop.

They serve a variety of food and beverage products including: Pizza, Bakeries, Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt, Deli items.

They offer more than 100 flavors of ice cream and delicious milkshakes.

Fun Fact: The owners are wonderful people, who are directly related to former Fox News channel star Andrea Tantaros.

LITTLE’S DAIRY BAR

Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

This is another of our nearby ice cream shops in Egg Harbor Township.

It’s very popular and they offer a wide array of ice cream, water ice and fabulous milkshakes.

BORGATA BAKING COMPANY

Atlantic City, New Jersey

Located at Borgata Resort Casino and Spa.

They offer Cupcakes, Bakeries, Gelato and great Milkshakes.
