Everyone's favorite hot dog-shoveling American treasure, Joey Chestnut, won this year's Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, NY.

Not only that but he did it in style, too. The defending champion broke his own world record by eating 74 hot dogs in 10 minutes to claim the title, compared to only 72 hot dogs last summer.

In a distant second place was Carmen Cincotti, who along with 19 other competitors, fell to "Jaws" in the contest.

Sports betters also loved his chances to win as Bookies told ESPN that well over $1 million was bet on the annual contest across the offshore sports book industry.

The legend of Joey Chestnut continues, Happy July 4th!
