Three South Jersey Fire Stations Receiving Nearly $200K in Grants
Congressman Jeff Van Drew's office has announced the award of the competitive Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) totaling nearly $200,000 to three fire stations in South Jersey.
In a press release, Congressman Jeff Van Drew said, "The AFG program continues to help our first responders in South Jersey to get the protective equipment and training they need."
The grant is organized by FEMA in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration. To date, it has awarded $7.1 billion to first-responder organizations so they can get emergency response equipment, personal protective equipment, as well as firefighting and emergency vehicles, and training.
The Green Creek Volunteer Fire Company will be receiving just over $125,000, The City of Ocean City will be receiving $56,600, and Absecon Fire Company No. 1 will be awarded almost $12,400.
