Thursday: Five More Deaths as COVID-19 Cases Nears 1,000 in Atlantic County
Officials in Atlantic County say five more people have died as a result of complications from COVID-19 as the countywide total of cases approaches 1,000.
The five people were a 78-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, both from Hammonton; an 81-year-old man from Absecon man; a 78-year-old Egg Harbor Township man; and an 89-year-old woman from Linwood. Four of the five were residents of long-term care facilities, according to a press release.
Also reported on Thursday were 57 new cases among 25 men (ages 22-88) and 32 women (ages 7-92). 21 more residents have been cleared as recovered.
With today's numbers, the countywide total stands at 960 confirmed cases with 42 deaths and 178 recovered residents.

Testing for COVID-19 will continue in Atlantic County next week on Monday only for those who originally had appointments today (Thursday) as that event was postponed due to the weather.
