Tuesday: 18-year-old Among Nine Newest COVID Fatalities in Atlantic County
On Tuesday, officials in Atlantic County announced that an 18-year-old woman from Mullica Township and eight elderly residents of long-term care facilities were the most recent people to die due to complications of COVID-19.
Authorities say all nine had pre-existing conditions that put them at higher risk.
Seven of the elderly fatalities were from Absecon, including two 80-year-old women, two 80-year-old men, an 81-year-old woman, an 88-year-old man, and a 90-year-old woman. The other long-term care resident was a 77-year-old man from Linwood.
This brings the total countywide deaths related to COVID-19 to 86.
34 new cases were also reported on Tuesday, bringing the countywide total to 1,564. The new cases were among 15 men (ages 9 to 87) and 19 women (ages 24 to 98).
