Twelve Students OK Following School Bus Accident in Hamilton Township
A 17-year-old from Mays Landing was issued a summons for careless driving after police say the teen struck a school bus Wednesday morning in Hamilton Township.
Cops in Mays Landing say they responded to Route 50 and Pine Street just after 7:00 Wednesday morning for the report of a crash involving a school bus. An investigation revealed the bus, being driven by 53-year-old John Powell of Mays Landing, was stopped on Route 50 with its lights flashing when the teen, who was driving a Ford Expedition, struck the rear bumper of the bus.
The school bus had twelve students from William Davies School on-board and no serious injuries were reported, according to authorities.
The teen was issued a summons for careless driving.
Just minutes before this crash, cops in Mullica Township responded to a crash between a pick-up truck and a school bus where two people, including one student aboard the bus, were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
