Two Atlantic City men are facing charges after cops say they assaulted and pistol-whipped a man following a dispute in the city Tuesday evening.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, officers responded to the first block of South Bellevue Avenue for a report of a man assaulted with a handgun just before 8PM Tuesday. Officers found the victim, a 66-year-old man, with a head injury. Cops say the victim was attacked and struck in the head with a handgun after being confronted regarding an earlier police response to the same location.

The two suspects, 29-year-old Khalil Swain and 37-year-old Shawn Harris, both of Atlantic City, were both located inside a residence on the block and taken into custody. The victim was treated on scene.

Both Harris and Swain were charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain person not to possess a weapon, and conspiracy. Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
