Two people were killed and another person was seriously injured in a gun battle Thursday night at motel in Salem.

NJ.com reports police responded to a shots fired call around 8:00 Thursday night at the Salem Motor Lodge.

The Salem County Prosecutor’s Office says officers found 28-year-old Isa Hallman of Salem suffering from gunshot wounds in a room and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other men were taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle. 28-year-old Kapri Taylor of Salem was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 25-year-old, also from Salem, was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition and he is expected to recover.

Salem County Prosecutor John T. Lenahan tells NJ.com the shooter or shooters fired from behind a fence line adjacent to the hotel. Shots were also fired from the hotel room and weapons were recovered there.

The killings followed gunfire at the same motel the night before. Authorities believe the incidents are connected.

As of Friday night, no arrests have been made.
