Two Men Arrested, Drugs Recovered in Atlantic City
Atlantic City cops say a traffic stop led to the arrest of two men and the recovery of cocaine and marijuana.
Around 6:45 Friday evening, an ACPD officer stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue for traffic and equipment violations. According to a press release, the officer, while speaking to the driver, 31-year-old James Harley Jr. of Sicklerville, could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Harley also had a suspended New Jersey driver’s license and an active warrant for his arrest.
Harley and his passenger, 34-year-old Nasif Townsend of Atlantic City, were arrested after a backpack in the vehicle contained more than 106 grams of marijuana, clear sandwich bags, small yellow plastic containers, and a digital scale.
Cops also say that while searching Townsend after his arrest, another officer found 14.5 grams of cocaine in Townsend’s pocket.
Harley, Jr., was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession of CDS paraphernalia, contempt of court warrant, and multiple motor vehicle summons.
Townsend was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), two counts of possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Both were released on a summons with a future court date.
