An early morning crash on I-95 in South Philadelphia has killed two Pennsylvania State Troopers and one other person.

The investigation into the crash, which happened before 1 AM Monday, has caused the closure of I-95 in the area for several hours.

6ABC reports that the crash happened on the northbound side of I-95 near the Stadium Complex, just north of Broad Street.

It appears that the state troopers were making a traffic stop at the time when a car struck and killed them and one other person who was on the scene.
