UFC President Dana White: "We'll Definitely Be Back" to A.C.

Atlantic City was one of the first places that opened its doors to the UFC back in 2000 at which was then Taj Mahal and now Hard Rock Casino.

"Atlantic City was one of the first places that gave us an opportunity," UFC President Dana White explained on 97.3 ESPN.

The first event came to the Boardwalk back in November of 2000, with two more events in 2001. The most recent UFC card at Boardwalk Hall in 2018.

While Atlantic City has hosted nine total UFC cards, second to only Las Vegas, which is the run-away leader with 123 UFC events, the expectation is that more are on the way.

In an interview on The Sports Bash at Radio Row in Miami, UFC President Dana White said the Boardwalk Empire can expect to see more fights.

"We'll never forget about Atlantic City and we'll definitely be back," White told The Sports Bash on Friday.

Boardwalk Hall has hosted four events, three at the old Taj Mahal, which is now Hard Rock, and two at the old Revel, which is now Ocean.

The last UFC card in Atlantic City drew an attendance of 9,541 at Boardwalk Hall, with a high of 12,000 in 2005.

The problem is, with the popularity of UFC at this stage, Boardwalk Hall might not be big enough for one of the high-profile cards, and the casino venues like Hard Rock and Ocean might be too small for the crowds that UFC generates.
