A Voorhees man has been indicted in connection to a crash on the Black Horse Pike in Hamilton Township earlier this year that claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman.

Prosecutors say on Wednesday, 30-year-old Stephen Sirch was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for second-degree vehicular homicide.

On the afternoon of April 3rd, Sirch was involved in a crash on the Black Horse Pike just west of High Bank Road in Hamilton Township.

According to authorities, Sirch’s SUV struck a car being driven by 29-year-old Karina E. Castillo of Clementon as both were headed westbound on the Pike.

After that contact, Castillo's vehicle crossed over the center-painted median into the eastbound lanes and was struck by an on-coming Ford Fusion being driven by 40-year-old Diana Hernandez-Ramos of Hammonton.

Castillo was pronounced dead at the scene. Hernandez-Ramos and three people in her car were injured.

The Black Horse Pike was closed for four hours while the scene was cleared.

Authorities say, "Sirch was travelling at an excessive speed at the time of the crash."

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
