Video: Check out this parking lot light show at a New Jersey mall Friday night
There was quite a light show at a big shopping mall in South Jersey Friday night.
I could best describe it as if we were trying to either attract or land UFOs, this is probably the best way to do it.
As I was driving past Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing Friday night, I had a front-row seat to what could have been described as the state's largest disco.
About one-third of the bright lights in the mall's parking lot were blinking and flashing.

I should point out that like most outdoor lights these days, the mall uses LEDs in their parking lot, having replaced old-fashioned light bulbs a long time ago.
While LEDs use far less electricity, there is one downside. When an old light bulb went bad, it usually just went dark. With LEDs, that can happen, but they can have a few more problems.
One of those problems is they often flicker, blink, or flash when things go wrong. And it can be multiple lights, depending on how they're wired.
They also sometimes turn purple, which I've seen along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. That looks kinda cool, actually.
Back to the Hamilton Mall, take a look at what was going on Friday night. And I should caution you that if you are impacted or triggered by strobing lights, you may want to not watch this video.
This is not a reflection of poor maintenance at the mall, as I have seen this happen at many other businesses. Things break and things get fixed. Quite frankly, it was fun to watch and quite a visual.
