Where did ‘This’ Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Go? Bring ‘Him’ Back
The photo above is of Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small, when he was in the process displaying great courage and leadership.
It was June 1, 2020. A very bad day and night of riots, fires, looting and more had taken place in Atlantic City.
Remember, these were the days of the politically ginned-up riots that were held all over America during the run-up to the 2020 Presidential election, (during the radical defund the police days).
Small was at The Tanger Outlets, The Walk when rampant looting was taking place and thugs had taken to the streets of Atlantic City.
Here is what I wrote about Small at the time.
The featured photo above and below, depicts Small staring down the rioters and looters and materially helping to bring back calm and law and order in Atlantic City.
It was Marty Smalls’ finest moment as Mayor of Atlantic City (see below).
This was during a time when Small was kept on a very short electoral, political leash.
Small became Mayor because of highly unusual circumstances. Small ascended to the position because he was City Council President when a former Mayor was forced to leave the position after being convicted of criminal conduct.
This made Small the Acting Mayor of Atlantic City. He still had to earn the position for real.
This placed Small in a very tight box, where he had to win 7 different elections in 2 years in order to finally win a 4-year term as Mayor of Atlantic City.
While Small was winning short terms as Mayor, his behavior was exemplary. He was uniting people and doing an overall good job.
Small was humble and appreciative of the opportunity that he had been given.
The political “Monster Small” only revealed itself after Small won a full 4-year term on November 2, 2021, against a crowded field featuring:
- Marty Small - Democratic Nominee
- Tom Forkin - Republican Nominee
- Mo Delgado
- Steve Layman
- Jimmy Whitehead
- Dr. Daud Panah
After Small won his 4-year term, he completely changed his philosophy of governance from reasonable to radical.
Small went on a disastrous friends and family taxpayer hiring spree.
Small became radical and created ex-offenders programs that have failed.
Small refused to focus on the core functions of being a local elected official … he has failed to keep the streets of Atlantic City clean and safe.
The Small mayor of the first two years did the right things and he also helped to manage the COVID-19 pandemic very well in Atlantic City.
That was then. This is now.
The current Mayor Small and his wife have been indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury on multiple serious criminal charges.
Marty Small is going to have to win another “election” before an Atlantic County criminal jury in order to remain as Mayor of Atlantic City.
