Voting For Governor Of New Jersey Is Underway: Who’s Winning?

The last two polls for Governor of New Jersey have the race between Jack Ciattarelli versus Mikie Sherrill as a dead heat.

If the current polls are currently tied … it likely means that Ciattarelli is actually leading the race … as Republicans always perform better than the polls.

In the most recent poll by co/efficient, Sherrill has 48 percent of the vote versus Ciattarelli at 47 percent. The survey says that 5 percent of the voters are still undecided.

Undecided Voters Typically Vote For Change

This means that the majority of last minute undecided voters will move to Ciattarelli … because in this election, Ciattarelli represents a vote for change in New Jersey.

Early, In-Person Voting Is Currently Underway

New Jersey has 9 days of early, in-person voting, which continues through November 2, 2025.

The General Election polls will then re-open on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., ET.

Ciattarelli Is Running Stronger Now, Than In 2021

Ciattarelli came within 3 percentage points of incumbent Governor Phil Murphy.

There was never a poll in 2021 that showed Ciattarelli close.

Republicans Are Perforning Better in 2025 Versus 2021

Murphy and the Democrats dominated the vote by mail and early, in-person voting in 2021.

Ciattarelli actually won with citizens who cast their vote in General Election Day. He could not overcome the wide lead established by Governor Murphy with those who voted prior to General Election Day.

Looking Inside The Latest Poll

There is very good news within the tabulars of the latest poll.

Ciattarelli has a commanding lead with men (54%-38%) and with voters who are 55 years and older.

Ciattarelli also leads by a wide margin with Independent voters (48%-39%).

Additionally, Ciattarelli leads with 53% of the vote amongst white and Asian voters.

Conservative voters support Ciattarelli at 87% … which appears low. Ciattarelli has typically enjoyed mid-90’s and beyond support amongst conservatives.

92 percent of liberals support Sherrill.

The Co/efficient poll was conducted from October 23-27, 2025 and featured the results of 995 likely general election voters. The poll is accurate within a margin of error of plus or minus 3.27 percentage points.
