It was a local fifth-grader who was killed on the ride at the Deerfield Harvest Festival in Rosenhayn Saturday evening.

According to The Daily Journal, New Jersey State Police has identified the victim as Hailey McMullen, 10.

Deerfield Township School District Chief Administrator Mary Steinhauer-Kula first identified the first girl in an alert, and that identification was later confirmed by New Jersey State Police, according to The Daily Journal.

In a message, Steinhawer-Kula said, "It is with deep and profound sadness that I inform you of the loss of one of our beloved students. Hailey McMullen, a 5th grade student, was involved in a tragic accident last evening at the Harvest Festival. Our thoughts and prayers are with Hailey's family, our entire school community and all who knew and loved her."

The young girl was thrown from a ride just after 6PM and was rushed to the hospital, where she died of her injuries.
