70-year-old North Cape May Woman Killed in Single Car Accident

A Wednesday afternoon accident on Town Bank Road in the North Cape May section of Lower Township claimed the life of a local woman.

Lower Township Police say the accident occurred just after 1PM. A car driven by Elizabeth A. Caulkins, 70, crossed the center line and swiped an oncoming vehicle, then struck a utility police.

Police say Caulkins was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital but later died of her injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
