A Tale of Two Cities: Atlantic City, NJ, Mayor Ignores 5th & 6th Wards
The first 4 Wards of Atlantic City, New Jersey look much different than the 5th and 6th Wards from a facilities standpoint.
We’re purposely taking any opinions out of equation and letting photographs that we took tell the entire story.
The photos below will show how the City of Atlantic City treats the Chelsea Little League Stadium and adjacent athletic courts versus how the various complexes in the first 4 Wards are treated.
All photographs that appear below were taken on Sunday, January 19, 2025 by Don Hurley.
The difference is stark.
The Chelsea Little League Stadium is falling apart and is laced with unsightly graffiti.
The Pop Lloyd Stadium looks like a professional stadium. We couldn’t be happier for those who will enjoy it upon completion.
The Atlantic City Police Athletic League is fabulous.
In the other facilities, The Uptown Complex … there’s a beautiful all weather track … nice bleachers without graffiti … well manicured baseball field, without a permit or police approval to be able to play … there are fiberglass backboards and perfect court surfaces to play on … The West Side Complex has a swimming pool … Well appointed basketball courts with fiberglass backboards.
Then, compare with The Chelsea Little League Stadium.
No opinions are offered here … just look at the photos below.
They tell the entire story.

NOTE: The original “Tale of Two Cities” was published by English Charles Dickens in 1859. The book is set in London and Paris (both) before and during the French Revolution.
