Absecon, NJ, man killed in head-on crash in Vineland

Authorities in Cumberland County say a man from Absecon was killed in a crash Friday morning.

The accident happened just before 7:00 in the 200 block of Park Avenue in Vineland.

According to an investigation by the Vineland Police Department, 51-year-old Billy Hyslip of Absecon crossed the center line and crashed into a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Patrick Schmidt of Cherry Hill.

Hyslip succumbed to his injuries at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.

Police did not say if Schmidt was hurt in the accident.

Investigation Continues

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Ofc. A. Capelli of the Vineland Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit at (856) 691-4111.
