At 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 5, 2024, we heard from Ron Bailey, from Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Bailey was traveling near the border of Absecon and Pleasantville, New Jersey on New Road when he came upon an awful smell and water seeping onto the roadway.

Bailey is an Atlantic City community leader, who has run competitive campaigns for local office.

Ron Bailey described what he encountered as follows:

New Road and California Ave on the Pleasantville border some type of sewer issue going on large amounts of raw sewerage coming out of the manholes in the roadway on new road and also in the landings housing development, said Bailey.

Here are photos from the scene taken by Ron Bailey.

We will update this report upon receipt of additional information regarding exactly what is the root cause of this sewage encroachment.
