A passenger in a car traveling eastbound on the Atlantic City Expressway early Saturday morning died in a one-vehicle crash just before the Pleasantville tolls.

One Dead in ACX Crash

Breaking AC.com reports that the NJ State Police were dispatched at 4:27 am Saturday to investigate a wrong-way driver on the Expressway.

As police searched for the driver, they were called to the scene of a one-car crash at mile 4.1 eastbound on the ACX, where a silver Infiniti had crashed into a concrete barrier and a toll reader system.

A Bridgeton man, David Salas, 24, a passenger in the car, was killed.

The driver, Diana Barrios-Ortiz, 23, of Bridgeton, suffered minor injuries, State Police told Breaking AC.com.

An Investigation is Underway

At 5:10 am Saturday, the 511 traveler information service posted a message on X about the police investigation.
