On Valentine's Day, a motor vehicle stop in Atlantic City resulted in the recovery of 2,500 bags of heroin and the arrest of a Mays Landing man.

The ACPD says cops conducted a motor vehicle stop in reference to a narcotic investigation in the 1100 block of Drexel Avenue.

During the stop, a police K-9 detected drugs in the vehicle, which was then towed to where it could be searched. The driver, 24-year-old Braheem Norwood of Mays Landing, who was not under arrest, left the scene.

After obtaining a search warrant, authorities found 2,500 individual bags of heroin in the vehicle. A wanted warrant was issued for Norwood's arrest and on February 20th he surrendered at the Hamilton Township Police Department.

Norwood has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
