South Jersey gym chain Atilis Gym announced this weekend that they will taking over the shuttered Tilton Fitness in Galloway.

Atilis Gym owner Chris Lambert took to Facebook live video to announce that Atilis Gym had acquired the Galloway location of Tilton Fitness and that it would reopen as the fifth location of Atilis Gym on Dec 21.

Lambert, a former Lower Township police officer, opened Atilis Gym in 1974. Atilis has locations in Wildwood, Egg Harbor Township, Sea Isle City, and Ocean City.

Atilis Gym just signed the contracts for our 5th location......Atilis Gym, Galloway. Formerly Tilton Fitness, this will be the biggest gym to date and we will be working hard and fast for our grand opening set for Monday, December 21. We will be making great changes, adding plenty of great equipment and of course putting together a true Atilis Gym style atmosphere!!!

Tilton Fitness, a popular and successful South Jersey fitness chain for 35 years, closed all of its seven locations on July 1.

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce Tilton Fitness Powered by Hackensack Meridian Health will be permanently closing its doors on July 1, 2020. Unfortunately, like other fitness centers across the country, our facilities have been hit hard by the mandatory closures due to the coronavirus pandemic and we were forced to make this difficult decision.
