Atlantic City Board of Ed. Fails to Act vs. Indicted Schools Boss
Many have asked what can you do when the Atlantic City, New Jersey Board of Education refuses to take action versus their indicted Superintendent of Public Schools.
Sources have reached out to us to point out that there is the existence of the New Jersey state Board of Examiners within the Department of Education.
They have the authority to suspend or revoke the certificate of Superintendent La’Quetta Small and Atlantic City High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman.
La’Quetta Small has been indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury:
- second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
An Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Days-Chapman on August 17, 2024 on a variety of criminal counts as follows:
- second-degree Official
Misconduct. - one count of second-degree Pattern of Official Misconduct.
- one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
- one count of third-degree Hindering
Apprehension of Another.
Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small was indicted with his wife on September 17, 2024:
- second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
- third-degree Terroristic Threats,
- third-degree Aggravated Assault.
About the indictment of Marty and La’Quetta Small, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office released the following disturbing allegations:
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Marty Small, Sr., 50, and his wife, La'Quetta Small, 47, of Atlantic City, NJ were both indicted for second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Marty Small, Sr. was also indicted for third-degree Terroristic Threats, and third-degree Aggravated Assault. It is alleged that during the months of December 2023 and January 2024, the defendants physically and emotionally abused their 15/16-year-old-daughter on multiple occasions. During one incident, on January 13, 2024, Marty Small, Sr. is alleged to have hit his daughter multiple times in the head with a broom causing her to lose consciousness, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
They Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office also released more details of another alleged incident that took place on January 3, 2024, alleged that Marty Small, Sr., stating that:
During an argument with his daughter, continuously threatened to hurt her by "earth slamming" her down the stairs, grabbing her head and throwing her to the ground, and smacking the weave out of her head. Another incident involved Marty Small, Sr. punching his daughter repeatedly in her legs causing bruising. It is alleged that La'Quetta Small, during one incident, punched her daughter multiple times on her chest leaving bruising. Another incident alleged that La'Quetta Small dragged her daughter by her hair then struck her with a belt on her shoulders leaving marks. Another incident alleged that La'Quetta Small punched her daughter in the mouth during an argument.
The allegations are disturbing in nature. Marty Small continues to maintain that this is a personal family matter that has been turned into a criminal case because he (Marty Small) is the mayor of Atlantic City and because his wife (La’Quetta Small) is the Atlantic City superintendent of public schools.
The two Smalls’ are responsible for combined budgets totaling more than $500 million per-year.
Marty Small has publicly stated that he will not resign, despite New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy publicly questioning whether he can still be effective in his public position.
