… However, there is still time (barely) for Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small to do the right thing here and save their season!

The Stockton University Men’s Hockey season has already been delayed by two weeks. The time for action is now, without delay!

Please do not do to the Stockton University Men’s Hockey Team … what you did earlier this year to the Stockton University Rowing Program … which forced them to abruptly move on no notice to Brigantine … or, this highly regarded, national caliber and ranked program would have lost their season had not The City of Brigantine not rescued them.

Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small has demonstrated the capacity to step-up when he is motivated to do so.

I am respectfully asking Mayor Small to do this today or tomorrow, Thursday, September 28, 2023.

If not, it is likely that the Stockton University Men’s Ice Hockey season will be lost.

It is the second consecutive year that the Stockton University Men’s Hockey Team has faced late jeopardy at the hands of the Marty Small, Atlantic City Hall administration.

This year, however, the deadline is even more perilous.

Mayor Small must see that the agreement for Stockton University to be able to use the Atlantic City Skate Zone rink is executed, or, their entire 2023-2024 season will be lost.

The Stockton Men’s Hockey Team is a great program, led by head coach Alan Rhoads.

I have purposely refrained from calling Coach Rhoads because I don’t want him to become a victim of any form of political retaliation.

However, from confidential Atlantic City sources, I have obtained absolute, incontrovertible confirmation of months of communications between Stockton University and The City of Atlantic City.

I have proof of the following efforts made by Stockton University to secure their ice skating rink time for this season.

Stockton University sent their initial request on June 23, 2023.

A follow-up was sent on July 15, 2023.

Another follow-up was sent in July 27, 2023.

Yet another follow-up was sent on August 11, 2023.

A 4th follow-up was sent on August 21,  2023.

The City of Atlantic City has taken no formal action yet to allow the Stockton University Men’s Hockey season to begin.

We have confirmed that Jenny Gieghorn sent an email to Samm D'Amore at the Atlantic City Skate Zone on August 15, 2023, writing him as follows:

Hey Samm,

Stockton needs these agreements signed... attached is the cost and schedule... Can you make sure this gets executed if it is ok with the legal department.

Thanks Jenny

Jenny Gleghorn

Gleghorn is also the President of the Atlantic City Sharks Youth Hockey Organization.

The agreement documents must be signed by today or tomorrow … or, the season is likely lost.

Ending the Stockton Men’s Ice Hockey season like this would be unjust and completely unnecessary.

Mayor Small, you are capable of stepping-up BIG. It was just a few months ago that I politely asked you on behalf of Atlantic City residents to fix massive potholes that had existed and persisted for two years.

Mayor Small had them repaired the very next day after my polite report.

With just one phone call, Mayor Small can fix this problem.

It must be done by today or tomorrow at the very latest. Please do the right thing.

I’ll be the first in line to thank Mayor Small.
