Atlantic City Man Wanted for Attempted Murder Arrested During Traffic Stop
An alert Atlantic City Police Officer got a man wanted for attempted murder off of the streets Tuesday afternoon.
The Atlantic City Police Department reports at around lunchtime Tuesday, Ofc. Aaron Jones stopped a vehicle at Indiana and Bacharach Boulevard after seeing the driver, 31-year-old Ibn Jones of Atlantic City, and knowing that he had a warrant out for his arrest.
Police say Jones’s charges stem from a man being shot at Indiana and Baltic Avenues in the city on November 9th, 2020, that resulted in serious injuries to the victim. In that incident, a concerned citizen drove the man to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment.
Jones has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and aggravated assault. Jones was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
