On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, we blew the whistle that the City of Atlantic City’s inaction regarding executing the ice rink agreement with Stockton University had reached a tipping point, critical moment of truth.

If the City failed to sign the agreement within 1 day, The Stockton University Men’s Hockey Team was going to have to cancel their 2023 season.

They had already been forced to delay their season by two weeks.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Stockton University’s season was just one day away from being lost.

I wrote last week that Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small was capable of doing the right thing for Stockton University.

I am pleased to report that within just a few hours of our September 27, 2023 published report … Small authorized the City of Atlantic City legal department to sign the Atlantic City Skate Zone ice rink time agreement.

Good public conduct exhibited by Small. He did the absolute right thing.

It’s great news for Stockton University, who now have the opportunity to play their 2023 men’s hockey season.

The Stockton Men's Hockey Team is a great program, led by head coach Alan Rhoads.

To give you an idea just how competitive they are, on December 10, 2022, Stockton University defeated Rutgers University 4-1.

The featured photograph above is from this game, when Stockton University invited children from the Atlantic City Sharks program to stand with them … on the ice, during the playing of our National Anthem.

Thank you Mayor Small for doing the right thing at a critical moment of truth.
