The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department is becoming more and more proactive.

The latest example of this, is that they actually interrupted a drug deal in progress and made two arrests at the same time.

Here are the details.

On May 23, 2024, at 5:42 PM, Officers Julian Monsalve and William Harned observed Calvin Cross and Angelina Cannon in an alleyway of the first block of south Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard. Cross and Cannon were engaged in narcotic transaction. Upon seeing the marked police car, Cross and Cannon immediately began to walk away from the officers, said the Atlantic City Police.

The Atlantic City Police Officers were able to stop the pair and place them in custody.

Cross was found in possession of:

  • approximately 50 grams of packaged heroin.
  • more than 45 grams of cocaine.
  • numerous Xanax pills.

The Atlantic City Police did the following:

ARRESTED: Calvin Cross, 46, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Possession of CDS (three counts), possession of CDS with intent to distribute (three counts), and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone.

Cross was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

ARRESTED: Angelina Cannon, 41, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Loitering to possess CDS.

Cannon was released on a summons with a future court date.
